Scope of the conference
The Central European Tectonic Group (CETEG) is an open scientific community that brings together geoscientists interested in geodynamic and tectonic processes of the Earth’s crust in a broad sense.
The mission of CETEG is to strengthen professional communication, enhance scientific cooperation, and coordinate research activities among individuals and institutions from Central European countries who are engaged in the study of tectonics, structural geology, and lithospheric geodynamics. Through regular meetings, field workshops, and collaborative initiatives, CETEG aims to promote the exchange of ideas, support young researchers, and contribute to a deeper understanding of the geodynamic evolution of our region and the Earth as a whole.
We warmly invite contributions that reflect the broad scientific spirit of CETEG meetings. The conference will embrace a diverse spectrum of geodynamic and tectonic research, including:
- evolution of orogenic belts and sedimentary basins
- links between magmatism, metamorphism, and tectonics
- structural geology and deformation processes
- salt tectonics
- low-temperature thermochronology
- post-Variscan tectonics
- neotectonics and present-day geodynamics
- geohazards and seismic risk
- other related topics
These topics represent the traditional core of CETEG activities, yet the conference remains open to fresh perspectives and emerging themes. If you wish to introduce a special topic or propose a focused session, we will be glad to discuss your ideas. We look forward to inspiring contributions, new collaborations, and lively scientific discussion within our community. If you would like to propose a dedicated thematic block or session, don't hesitate to get in touch with the organisers.
