The 22nd Meeting of the Central European Tectonic Studies Groups – CETEG 2026 was held at the Academia Congress Center in Stará Lesná, Slovak Republic, from 22 to 25 April 2026.
The meeting was organised by the Department of Geology and Palaeontology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University Bratislava, in cooperation with the Earth Science Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Department of Mineralogy, Petrology and Economic Geology, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University Bratislava, and the Slovak Geological Society.
The meeting was supported by the Slovak Commission for UNESCO, the Slovak Academy of Sciences, and Comenius University Bratislava.

A total of 76 participants from seven countries (Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Croatia, Sweden, and Bulgaria) attended the meeting. During the conference, 32 posters and 30 oral presentations were presented and discussed, including keynote presentations by Jaroslaw Majka (Uppsala University, Sweden, and AGH University of Krakow, Poland) and Bojan Matoš (University of Zagreb, Croatia). The oral presentations were organised into eight thematic sessions: Beyond Central Europe; Metamorphic Conditions and Deformation Processes; Magmatic Processes and Petrology; Geochronology; Seismotectonic Implications; Western Carpathians in Time and Space; Sedimentation and Neotectonics; and Pieniny Klippen Belt.
As usual, two students were awarded prizes for their presentations. Ludwik de Doliwa Zieliński from AGH University of Krakow (Krakow, Poland) received the prize for the best oral student presentation, while Ema Klamová from Comenius University Bratislava (Bratislava, Slovakia) received the prize for the best poster student presentation.

The conference venue was situated directly beneath the peaks of the High Tatras, which lie between the two geological complexes that were the focus of the field trips. The pre-conference excursion, guided by Marián Putiš and Rastislav Vojtko, focused on the Variscan basement of the Low Tatra Mountains (Veporic Unit). The post-conference excursion, guided by Dušan Plašienka, focused on the composition and structure of the Pieniny Klippen Belt in the Čergov sector.
